Provence
The Provence region runs along the Mediterranean coast, bordered by the Rhone River to the west and the Côte d’Azur on the east. Throughout the region's history, viticulture and winemaking have been influenced by the cultures that have been present in Provence, which include the Ancient Greeks, Romans, Gauls, Catalans and Savoyards. The climate is hot, sunny and dry with little rain, and the brisk mistral wind helps to ripen the grapes quickly and free of pests/fungus. The region is known predominantly for its rosé, which accounts for 88% of wine production, then 9% red and 3% white.
The Vineyard is in the heart of Aix en Provence region, between Cavaillon and Salon the Provence town. The Chateau, temple, and chapel date from 1050 to 1400s and are classified as historical monuments. The estate has been in the Blanquet family since 1980 and the 65 hectares have been certified organic since 2010.
