Alsace
Alsace is located in North-Eastern France near Germany and are heavily influenced by this neighbour, even the bottles share the same fluted shape.
This area produces mainly white wines including dessert and sparkling. They also produce a small quantity of red wines. The style of the white wines are very aromatic, floral and spicy and include grape varieties Riesling, Sylvaner, Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Gris.
The Klur family have been producing wine since the 17th century. Today Clement Klur and Léon Heintzmann are looking after the 7th hectares that have been dedicated to organic & biodynamic production since 1999. The domain is nestled in a small valley surrounding the town of Katzenthal in the Haut-Rhin. The density of the vineyard is around 5000 vines per hectares with an average of 50 years. Only native yeasts are used in the winery and minimal use of sulphur in all of the wines. The Cremant has Zero added SO2.
